Fic, Choices, Sam/Jolinar/Martouf/Lantash, PG-13, 36/37
Summary: The Tok'ra and SG-1 finally get closer to finding Samantha and Jolinar.
Martouf POV
We are walking through the forest in the foothills of the mountains, searching for anything that could be an entrance to a secret hideout, when our communication unit signals a message.
"Hello, this is Martouf." I say.
"Ria here. Our scanners have just picked up a Goa'uld alkesh approaching the planet. It will be here within the hour."
I acknowledge reception of the very troubling news, and then relay it to Jacob, Rohk, and the members of SG-1. Everyone gets agitated.
It is worrisome! Terribly so. We had cracked the encryption of the communication that Ria had intercepted, a few days ago. Their source had also been approximately pinpointed but no one was in the area when we got there.
The communication turned out to be between Naunet and her first prime Jolki, as we had expected. It also confirmed that they know that Samantha is with child, and that Naunet has plans for the child.
For the children. We learned Samantha is expecting twins. We also learned that she seems to be doing well, so that is reassuring at least.
Fortunately, it sounds like Naunet has not informed Heru'ur or anyone else. Only she, her first prime, and the priestesses and servant guarding Samantha, knows. That is a relief, but not really surprising. This is not something Naunet will risk anyone else learning about before she has the children safely in her hands. It is too valuable a prize to risk anyone else more powerful capturing them.
In less than an hour Naunet is here! We need to find Samantha, now!
Sam POV
I get up from the bed where I have been half-sitting, half-lying. Someone is opening the hatch in the roof above my head.
"Come with me, Tok'ra slut!" Someone - a Jaffa - orders me.
I glare at him. "Go screw yourself!"
The thought of climbing those stairs do not appeal to me right now, and particularly not when it is probably only to be taken to a damn Goa'uld. So that Jaffa is probably Jolki, though he doesn't have a golden symbol on his forehead?
Because he is pretending to be someone else, I realize. He can't be the first prime of Naunet, when he is pretending to be Hapi's Jaffa. The symbol on his forehead is probably Hapi's, then.
"Move, Tok'ra! Or I shall come down and make you regret your insolence!"
"Yeah, yeah..." I sigh and starts to climb the stairs. It is no easy job in my current condition.
Eventually, I make it up, and Jolki fumes at me, and give me a hard push forward. "Get going!" I glare at him again, then look at his forehead mark. I wonder how the Goa'uld remove the forehead marks and put in another? The skin looks undamaged around it, and there are no signs of there ever being any other mark.
Why do I even care? It's not surprising, given their technology!
"Where are we going?" I ask, pretending to be stupid, hoping to gain time and maybe get the chance to escape.
"To get you washed. You stink! You cannot see your god like this!"
"Of course I stink! It's not like your pet savages has let me bathe more than once ever month or something!" I grumble.
I am pushed into the bathroom and ordered to wash. Thankfully, they leave me alone. I undress and with relief, I sit down in the clean fragrant water and start scrubbing myself clean.
I have dressed in the clean clothes they have given me, and actually feel better. Now I just need to find a way to escape. We are in some sort of building, but there does not seem to be any windows. I wonder if it is underground?
The question is answered quickly, when we walk out through a corridor hewn into the rock. We exit into the woodland. So the place was all inside a cave or something, and the wooden walls have been put up inside - and a basement had been made, which was where I was kept. I wonder what the place is used for otherwise? Habitation? Another secret lair? It doesn't look like it's been built recently, so that is probably what it is.
No one is guarding me except Jolki, and I have just decided to make a go for it, knocking him down and escaping, when I gasp out and fold over, as a strong jab of pain goes through my stomach.
Oh, no. I am not going into labour now!
Martouf POV
The alkesh zips over the trees, over our heads, and then lands some distance ahead. There must be a clearing there.
~It is Naunet. She has come for our beloveds and our children!~ Lantash sounds pained. ~We must hurry! We cannot allow this to happen!~
I start running, and the others do the same. We need to get to that alkesh, and quickly!
We approach the alkesh carefully. It is sitting on the ground, looking huge - but I realize that is because we don't usually see the alkesh on the ground.
One of the large doors are open, and I hide behind a bush. The others hide with me.
~Look! There is Samantha! With a Jaffa. Mai'tac! More Jaffa are coming from the ship, and there is the Goa'uld, looking as arrogant as expected!~ Lantash swears some more.
~They are heavily armed.~ I observe, my heart sinking as I see it. ~Samantha! She looks beautiful - and very heavy with child. Our children!~
~We cannot win in a direct confrontation, but perhaps we can if we surprise them... we must get aboard that ship!~
~How?~
~One of the other entrances. I doubt they are heavily guarded. Come!~
Lantash grabs control and starts sneaking off. Behind us, Jack grabs hold of us.
"Where are you going? We need to free Carter!" he whispers.
"And that is what I intend to do! I am going to get aboard that ship!" Lantash whispers back.
Jack frowns, then nods slowly. "I am coming with you."
Lantash considers briefly, then nods. While it is easier for us to get in unseen alone, we will probably need the extra manpower.
Sam POV
I am forced down on my knees in front of the Goa'uld, who walks up to me, grinning evilly.
"So, Tok'ra... soon you will come to regret your choice to break the laws of the Goa'uld. Carrying a human child is forbidden, as you know, and the knowledge hidden in yours will bring the downfall of your disgusting, perverted band of heretics! It will also assure my rise to power more fitting of what I deserve! Yes, you will truly regret your lewd ways!"
I wonder briefly how one person is able to spout so much offensive nonsense in one sentence.
"Go fuck yourself! I doubt anyone else will." I tell her. I mean, it's not like she won't kill me anyway, so I can just as well get the pleasure of telling her a piece of my mind first!
Her eyes flash brightly with her anger. "The host is as insolent as the symbiote. Of course, the host is in charge at this point of the gestation. I would have expected you would beg for mercy, though!"
"As even you should know, Tok'ra hosts are willing. We share control of the body, and host and symbiote agrees to anything that happens." I tell her, proudly. She doesn't need to know me being host was an accident!
She swears nasty in Goa'uld, then turns to Jolki. Before she can say anything, I cry out as a particularly strong contraction rips through me.
"Ah, I see she will soon spawn her offspring. Good. Take her to a cell and have a servant stand ready to assist her, if it should be needed."
"Yes, my Lord." Jolki bows.
"Then return to the peltac. We are leaving this place as quickly as possible!"
Lantash POV
We made it inside the alkesh undiscovered, and it was not a moment too soon! It takes off from the ground seconds after we have closed the door behind us.
"What now?" Jack asks in a low voice.
"Follow me."
We need to get to the cell block. There is usually one on an alkesh. Fortunately, it should be possible to do so without going through any of the areas where Naunet is likely to be, but anyone meeting us could raise the alarm.
Our weapons at the ready, we hurry through the corridors, as silently as possible.
We are about to turn a corner, when I sense an energy signature. I make a hand signal to Jack, and we both stop.
A short while later, the Jaffa we saw down on the planet with Samantha, walks past us. I quickly fire at him, and Jack does the same, resulting in the instant death of the Jaffa.
"Oops, I guess we might have wanted to interrogate him..." Jack says.
"I only regret his death was too easy!" I take the zat'nik'tel from the Jaffa, then fire again at him, and he disappears.
Jack nods, clearly agreeing, and we hurry on. I sense another energy signature ahead.
We enter the cell block shortly after. One of the four cells is occupied - with Samantha!
The only other person there is a servant.
"I'll keep guard." Jack whispers, and withdraws to just outside the area.
I nod briefly and step into the room. Samantha immediately turn around, sensing me. She must have been preoccupied not to sense me before.
"Martouf?!" She gapes at me.
I smile at hearing her voice, but my attention is immediately taken by the servant, who makes an angry sound.
"Who are you? You are not permitted in here! The heretic is the property of Lord Hapi!" She frowns. "I have seen you before."
I have glanced at her only short time before I realize I have seen her before. It is not a servant, but one of the priestesses from the palace. One of those responsible for abducting Samantha!
"I am Samantha and Jolinar's mate! You dare abduct her, keep her imprisoned, and give her to the Goa'uld?"
Furiously, I grab hold of her, and her eyes goes wide with fear. "You are a god! You truly are a god! I did not know they were speaking the truth! Please, spare me! I beg you, I would never do anything to anger a god!"
"I am no more a god than Naunet is - the Goa'uld who is impersonating your precious Hapi, and the one who owns this alkesh!"
"This alkesh belongs to Lord Hapi! We are going to see him now... my Lord!" the priestess insists.
"Lantash, her name is Siola, and she is the second in command of the organisation that wants Hapi back."
"Then my only regret is that I cannot kill her until we have learned all she knows." I glare at Siola, then gives her a hard push away, before shooting her once. She falls to the ground, unconscious.
I hurry to Samantha's side. She is so beautiful. I have missed her so much!
~We have her back!~ Martouf sounds elated, just like I feel.
"Lantash! It is so good to see you!" Samantha looks like she is about to cry.
"Beloved! I will have you free in a moment, and then you will be in my arms!"
I start to work on the lock, then give up and fire at it thrice, disintegrating it.
Samantha rushes out and throws herself around my neck. "Lantash, Martouf! I have missed you so much!"
"We have missed you terribly as well." We kiss, and for some time nothing exists except Samantha. Then I pull back and I sigh. "We must make our escape, but we cannot do so while Naunet is alive - she knows of our children, and we cannot permit that. It is too dangerous, and we would always be hunted."
"You know of the children." Samantha shakes her head. "You can tell, of course."
"I knew before. Ria had learned of it, and we have intercepted messages between Jolki and Naunet."
"Yes, of course. We need to kill Jolki too."
"I think I may have done that. Did he come from your cell just before we arrived here?"
"Yes, he did."
"Then he is the Jaffa we killed. Good. That is one less to worry about."
"Lantash...are you angry at me?"
I frown at her. What does she mean? "What possible reason could I have to be angry at you, my heart?"
"This..." She indicates her stomach. "The children... harcesises. And that I stupidly walked into the trap the priestesses had set, and got caught."
"Beloved! If anyone is to blame for the children, then that is me! I should have realized Jolinar did not protect you while unconscious like this. No, I do not blame you, of course not - in fact, I am very much looking forward to having children with you! And so is Martouf! And you could not have known the priestesses had set a trap for you."
"Listen, guys, I don't mean to hurry you, but could we get going?" Jack suddenly asks from the door.
"Sir!" Sam exclaims, then smiles. "It's good to see you."
"It's good to see you too." He nods towards the priestess who are waking up. "You had better lock that up."
I nod. "Of course." I grab the very groggy priestess and throw her in one of the other cells, which still has a working lock. It clanks shut, locking. I have no idea how to unlock those without a key, but that is a worry for later. I hand Samantha the zat'nik'tel I took from Jolki. "Perhaps you should stay here."
She takes the zat'nik'tel. "No, I am coming with you!"
"We will return for you when we have captured Naunet."
Samantha suddenly gasps, and almost folds over. "Perhaps...perhaps you're right..."
"Samantha! What is wrong with you?"
"I'm having contractions." She tells me.
"The children?"
~Of course. Do you know nothing of human biology?~ Martouf observes, tersely. He is as worried for Samantha as I am.
~I know more than any human ever will!~ I tell him, truthfully.
"Will be born soon." She gives me a pale smile. "But not just yet. I'll wait here for you, though."
I nod at her, then give her another kiss, before following Jack out into the alkesh, to take down the enemies awaiting us there.
