Summary: Sam wakes up and talks to Martouf/Lantash - and they agree to be mates.
Martouf POV
It is several hours later. Lantash and I have been given food and drink, and a place to rest while we wait. We try to relax, but cannot. Not until we have talked to Samantha.
Finally, it knocks on the door, and I get up. "Enter."
A servant enters, and bows her head to me. "Martouf, Ria sends greetings. She would like to inform you that Samantha is awake."
"Thank you! Can you take me to her?"
"I can, and I will. Please come."
We walk along the corridors, and the way seems long to me. The area is peaceful, and everything is tastefully decorated, even though it is clear that this was once the palace of the Goa'uld of this world. Ria has had the interior changed, fortunately.
"She is in there?" I ask, when we reach the door to a room, and the servant stops.
"Yes, she is. She is awaiting you."
Suddenly nervous, I enter. The light is dim, but the air is clean and fresh. With Lantash's help, my eyes get used to the darkness almost immediately, and I see a bed, with someone lying in it. "Samantha?"
She turns towards me, and smiles, and I feel my heart beat faster.
"Martouf! You have no idea how happy I am to see you!" She sits up.
"Likewise, are you well enough to sit?"
"I am well enough to get out of bed! I feel just fine, except for a heaviness in my head. It's also very strange to be... alone in my head again. It's not pleasant. I thought it would be, but it's not."
She looks sad, and I hurry to take her hand. "Jolinar is still with you. I can sense her. She is stronger than she was earlier, and Ria promises me she will be completely well. We must just wait some time before she can be with us again. It will be hard, but Lantash and I hope you will let us keep you company, and together we will get through this."
Samantha nods. "I don't think I can get through it alone, even knowing she is still with me, and will be back, talking to me, in... months... a year! It sounds so long!"
I squeeze her hand. "We are here for you."
"Thank you." She leans closer and give me a kiss. "I'm sorry I've been such a fool. I love you - both of you, so I shouldn't treat you like this. We should have told you earlier. I very much want to be your mate, if you still want me."
Lantash and I feel very happy, and returns her kiss. "Of course we want you as our mate. You and Jolinar. We love you."
Sam POV
I don't think I've ever felt happier! Martouf and Lantash love me, and they will be my mates! I really wish Jolinar was awake, and I could talk to her right now! She deserves to be happy with me.
I miss her a lot, all the time, but knowing she will be well helps. It also helps having Martouf and Lantash here with me.
We kiss again, and then I sit up straighter, and pulls the blanket aside. "I'd like to get up - and get something to eat. I also want to know how my dad is doing?"
Martouf helps me stand. I feel much better, but I am still a little weak.
"Jacob is fully healed, according to Ria. Selmak will be well also, though it will take more time for her as well."
"Can I go see my dad now?"
"I would think so? Maybe we should check if he's awake. The we can get something to eat afterwards."
I nod. Then I look down myself, seeing I am only wearing a nightgown I have borrowed from the ind Nadira we are staying with. "Ah, do you think there's a robe or something I can put on?"
"I'll check." Martouf says. He leaves, and comes back a short time later, bringing a shimmering red and golden robe made of silk.
"Wow. Now I feel I ought to bathe first!"
"I am sure you can just put it on as you are." Martouf smiles sweetly.
I do, and we go to see if my dad is awake. A servant is waiting outside the door, and she tells us that my dad is still asleep, but that all is well. She suggests we get something to eat while we wait. When I ask, I am told we can freshen up first if we want to, and she will have clean clothes brought to us. That will be nice. Nadira is very kind, but she is fairly poor, and her house doesn't have a bath, so we could only clean in a limited manner. Besides, I was in bed, too sick to care when we were there. Now I really want a bath.
After a bath, and after donning some clean clothes, I feel much better. Martouf is waiting for me outside. He, too, has taken the chance to bathe and has been given new clothing.
I smile at him, liking the clothes they have given it. It is a pair of dark pants, short boots, and a white shirt, seemingly of the same silk the robe I borrowed was made from. It suits him really well. "You look very nice in those clothes," I tell him, blushing a little.
"Thank you, Samantha. I also like what they have given you to wear." He looks at me with a smile on his face, taking time taking in my appearance, and clearly enjoying what he sees.
I must admit I felt more than a little self-conscious over the clothes they gave me. I mean, don't get me wrong, they really do fit well. The sandals are comfortable, and almost feels as if they are not there, even if they are hugging my lower legs with an intricate web of straps. I have on a blue skirt, with slits along the sides, going up to near the top of my thighs. The top is of a the same blue silk as the skirt, veeing deeply at the front and back. Both shirt and top have a thin, delicate golden embroidery along the hem.
When I put it on, and saw myself in the mirror, I almost suspected they had ulterior motives giving me this, but maybe this Ria just thinks it's nice. She is, after all, biologically Goa'uld - whether she is Tok'ra or not. I suspect it might affect their fashion sense - even if I can't blame the Tok'ra for generally wearing anything even remotely Goa'uld.
I smile at Martouf again. "Thanks." I sigh. "Listen, I'm sure you know more than me, because I know next to nothing about this Ria. Can you tell me something about her? Can she be trusted? Is she Tok'ra?"
Martouf nods. "Yes, Lantash and I believe we can trust her, and that she is Tok'ra. Come, let us go and get something to eat, and then I can tell you what I have learned about Ria - and her host Ti'vala."
